Snow likely: I'll believe it when I see it.

Supposedly, we are going to have some snow in the night and maybe tomorrow. The weather men are talking about it like it is eminent. I just don't see it happening. It doesn't snow like that here, or at all, for that matter. We might see some things freeze, but I don't think much more than that. I have lived here for 22 years now, and I can count the times it has snowed on one hand probably. Even if it will snow this year, it is not normally before Christmas. It is usually after New Year's Day, or thereon.

I do remember back in the winter of '89, we had a really bad winter storm. It was like everything was frozen. We got no snow, but there was an icicle hanging from everything. In fact, Glen (Spooky) and I walked across the front lake at my Dad's place. It was crazy! We took some golf balls out there, and just threw them across the frozen surface. We had so much fun. It was all very fun, that is, until Spooky
(our black labrador retriever) fell through the ice. We were playing on the ice for a couple of days, bu t stopped going out there when Dad told us it was melting a little too much. Well, the dog didn't get the same message. She went tearing off across the frozen body of water, only to fall in about 20 feet out. We ran to get Dad and he brought down a hoe and a rake to break her way to shore. Then, we had to dry her off with blankets. I don't remember if we brought her in the house or not. She typically didn't come in the house, being an outside dog and all. We had a huge dog house for her, and I think we just put a light in there for a little heat. That is probably my best and worst memory of a winter storm in Mississippi.

My blog never posts like it shows it will in the preview. The pictures always end up in a different spot. It is very frustrating.

Well, that's better. I was able to move around the pictures a bit.
