Slow Down

Yesterday was hectic. Well, this whole week has been pretty hectic. We are planning on a garage sale Saturday, so I ran out to my parents' place in the country to borrow their truck. You see, I needed some tables to put things on for the garage sale. The back windshield had been broken and the glass had not yet been cleaned up, so I had to do that before heading home. I was rushing around, trying to beat the darkness of night to get home to my babies and my lovely wife. I don't like time apart from them, so I am usually rushing on projects or errands like this. As I am leaving to go home with the tables, I roll the window down in the truck to feel a bit of breeze (no AC). I am crossing the lake's dam, and briskly. I happened to turn and see the below painting. That's all I can call it, because it might as well have been a canvas that someone spent hours creating. It hit me...what if I had not taken that moment to glance and see it? What if I had not slowed down to take it in? I would have truly missed out on something great. Don't let that happen to you...don't miss out on something great because you are just too busy. Slow down.

The Clinched Spot

You've heard some from me in the past couple of weeks about the Next Top Credit Union Executive competition that I'm in, and may have even voted for me. I would like to thank all of you that did vote for me...because of you, I am writing this post.

I have made it to the Top 15! From here, I will move on to the next level and write a blog post detailing more of my project, as well as another video. Those are to be judged by official judges (don't rest too much, I might still need a bit of voting help in the coming months) and then the top 5 will be announced.

I hope to be in the top 5, as I will get to go to the CUES CEO/Executive Team Network Conference in Manalapan, FL in November to present my project to the entire conference!

Stay tuned and thank you again!
